THE LAND WHERE GOD APPEARS



Is Vrindavan only special for being Lord Krishna’s birthplace? People who have been there take our attention to another specialty of the place – Nidhivan! It is a beautiful temple that appears to be ordinary during the day, but as the sun sets its miracles reveal themselves. There is a belief among the people of Vrindavan that the Lord appears along with Radharani and the other Gopis to perform the rasleela.
Since the Lord himself appears here every night the place is also known as Pratyaksha Sthal. Bankey Bihari, as the Lord is known here, comes to this pious place. Has anyone seen him come? This question has an interesting answer. It is said that anyone who entered Nidhivan at night has never returned to normalcy. In worst cases people have even died. Ask the local people about this and they will tell you that this is the result of witnessing the beautiful form of the Lord. Apparently, after seeing the amazing form of Bankey Bihari, a person loses interests in worldly things and either loses senses that help him enjoy this or loses life altogether.
Hard to believe, isn’t it? The priests of Rang Mahal have proof of the appearance of Bankey Bihari. Every evening the priest puts two toothbrushes, a saree, bangles, paan leaves, some holy water in jug with four sweets and every morning they appear scattered and used. There is no way anyone else can enter the territory. So, there no other option, but for us to believe that it is God who comes every night. No closed or locked door can prevent the all-pervading Lord from entering any territory. For non-believers it may only be a story or a myth, but for the believers its nothing less than a miracle. I believe in it. Do you?

To Everyone I Know

I never realized until now that I'm a little in love with everyone I know. A post I shared on Facebook sometime ago reminded me of this love. As I read the post, I realized that there's something we love about everyone we know. With too many things to do, we often forget it, but that doesn't mean that the love doesn't exist. The popular idea of love that we have created, prevents us from seeing and appreciating the various other ways in which it exits. It could be in the most insignificant things that people do or say casually. It could be in just a smile or holding the door open. I see love in so many things people do for me, but sharing food is my favorite way of sharing love. The black spot that stays

 Remember 'the black spot on the white paper' experiment? It is not leaving my mind today. I'm not sure why. I thought hard, but I couldn't decide whether it was because someone refused to see me as a contributor to society and was stuck with the idea of my limitation or because my ability was under valued many times. The spot never really bothered me as a child. Actually, I don't remember when it started bothering me. Maybe ten years ago, when I thought I can outperform the others and make people see me as the person that am, not as the girl on the wheelchair...  I thought I could change things.
